Keller Williams Utah RED DAY
Posted by kwutah.com under KW Cares
Keller Williams RED Day on May 14th was a huge success in Salt Lake and North America. RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day is a new Keller Williams Realty service initiative dedicated to improving local communities.
In Sugarhouse they had a wonderful time working together, digging in the dirt and planting flowers. “We had the privilege of helping five elderly homeowners with a spring clean-up of their yards. Actually, we started with three homes and when the neighbors saw what we were doing asked to have some help too. One of the women, Alfreda Evans is 104 years old, blind, has a hard time hearing and is completely home bound. I know that she enjoyed the company as much as anything,” said CEO, Nina McGee.
Matt Dimock, a KW agent in South Valley reported the success the Riverton agents had re-decorating 10 rooms at The South Valley Sanctuary, a shelter for abused women and children. They painted and decorated rooms and hung new curtains.
The Midvale Keller Williams agents were excited to help the children living in low income housing by renovating their “after school facilities” in Midvale, South Salt Lake and another in West Valley City. “Housing Opportunities Inc. would like to thank Keller Williams for the outstanding demonstration of community leadership which took place on Red Day 2009. Thanks to the enthusiastic efforts of Red Day Volunteers, low-income children now have improved access to safe child-friendly community centers. At these community centers Housing Opportunities Inc. provides after-school prevention programs which encourage academic achievement and avoidance of drugs and alcohol, reaching over 200 at-risk children annually. On behalf of our organization and the families we serve, once again, THANK YOU!” wrote Valerie Walton of the Housing Opportunities, Inc.
In addition, the Agents from our Keller Williams Midvale office packed, organized and cleaned the home of a wheelchair bound woman with MS who is moving to a handicap accessible home.
We may never know the true value and impact of this incredible gift to our communities in North America. But I know that the greatest gift that day was received, not by those we helped, but by those agents who gave their time and energy to those in need.

The team at Keller Williams Utah Realtors in Midvale is excited to invite agents, friends and colleagues to its first RED Day School Make-Over from 9am-4pm on May 14.
This make-over is part of the company’s nationwide and international event to contribute to local communities.
RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day is a new Keller Williams Realty service initiative dedicated to improving local communities. The organization is asking all Keller Williams Realty associated in the U.S. and Canada to donate their time May 14 to renewing and energizing aspects of their local communities.
Offices across America and Canada are planning everything from blood drives, food drives, housing rehabs, clean up activities – everything one can imagine. “Since our children are the future of our community and culture, we decided to focus our energies on the Make-Over of 3 classrooms across the Salt Lake Valley that provide a safe and constructive “after school” environment these children of low income families,” said Laurie Anderson, Chairperson of our KW Cares Committee.
Because of her constant commitment to the culture of the Keller Williams company, this day has been dedicated in honor of the company’s Vice Chairman, Mo Anderson. She is the driving force behind Keller Williams Realty’s culture of family. A tireless supporter of community causes, Mo Anderson founded KW Cares in 2003 to assist company associated and their families in need and raised millions for Hurricane Katrina relief. Most recently she was nominated for Realtor magazine’s 2006 Good Neighbor Award and named on the magazine’s Top 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate.
Agents and affiliates from all companies are welcome to join the Midvale Office’s team in it’s School Make Over of the three classrooms.
